The live site keeps evolving, so it may differ from the version I built.

The problem

Cobone’s website was 7–8 years old. The design looked dated and had little visual hierarchy, so deals were hard to scan.

The team wanted a full relaunch, but the platform was too large and established to risk a new stack. The new look had to be built inside the existing Grails and Java codebase.

What I built

  1. 01

    Home and category pages

The first phase: the pages most visitors land on, rebuilt to the new design.

  2. 02

    Deal, offer and content pages

Deal detail and offering pages, then terms and about pages, all moved to the new brand.

  3. 03

    Customer account area

The account management screens, restyled so the whole customer journey matches the new brand.

  4. 04

    Branded email templates

Marketing email templates for the sales team that match the relaunched site.

  5. 05

    Next.js migration plan

An implementation plan with effort and cost estimates for moving the platform to Next.js. The client later paused this project.

Key decisions

  1. Ship in phases

We started with the pages visitors see first, then moved deeper into the site. Each phase went live on its own.

  2. Figma stays the source of truth

When management asked for changes, we updated the Figma design and got approval before coding. This kept design and production in sync, including when changes came after launch.

  3. New look, same platform

I modernised the interface inside the existing stack, and planned the Next.js move as a separate project rather than mixing it into the relaunch.
