01

The problem

Yallacompare’s health and travel insurance products were live and working, but their front ends ran on older .NET pages with jQuery and plain HTML.

Customers had to work through long forms, with a page reload at each step, before they could compare quotes.

What I built

  1. 01

    React single-page journeys

Both quote journeys rebuilt as React apps, so moving between steps is instant instead of reloading the page.

  2. 02

    Multi-step forms

Long forms split into short, focused steps that are easier to follow and finish.

  3. 03

    Integration with the existing backend

The new front ends connect to Yallacompare’s existing APIs, which return and compare quotes from multiple insurers.

  4. 04

    Health journey UI design

I designed the interface for the health insurance journey as well as building it.

Key decisions

  1. Steps instead of one long form

Asking for less on each screen makes the journey feel shorter and clearer.

  2. Rebuild the front end, keep the backend

The comparison logic and APIs stayed as they were. Only the customer experience changed, which kept the risk low for a live product.
